Maxim Aniskin graduated from the Moscow Musical Pedagogical Institute in 2006 and joined the Novosibirsk Theater of Opera and Ballet.
He is a regular guest soloist at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow and the Perm Opera Theatre.
Maxim Aniskin’s operatic repertoire includes roles such as Eugene Onegin, Robert in Iolanta, both Prince Yeletsky and Count Tomsky in The Queen of Spades, Germont in La Traviata, Macbeth, Rigoletto, Rodrigo in Don Carlos, Sharpless in Madama Butterfly, Marcello and Schaunard in La Bohème, Scarpia in Tosca, Silvio in I Pagliacci, Malatesta in Don Pasquale, Count Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, Prince Igor, Tadeusz in Weinberg’s The Passenger, and Escamillo in Carmen.
In the 2011/12 season Maxim Aniskin made his debut at Teatro Real Madrid performing Robert in Iolanta. He sang in addition Marcello in La Bohème (Bolshoi Theatre Moscow), Sharpless in Madama Butterfly (Novosibirsk), Count Tomsky in The Queen of Spades (Perm), and Sir Riccardo in I puritani (Metropolitan Opera, NY), among others.
Recent and upcoming engagements include Eugene Onegin, Prince Yeletsky and Count Tomsky in The Queen of Spades (Bolshoi Theatre Moscow, Perm, Novosibirsk), Escamillo in Carmen (Perm, Novosibirsk), Rigoletto, Rodrigo in Don Carlo, Scarpia in Tosca, Germont in La Traviata, and Renato in Un ballo in maschera (all in Novosibirsk), Macbeth (Darmstdt, Klagenfurt and Novosibirsk), Sir Riccardo in I puritani (Metropolitan Opera, NY singing & cover), Robert in Iolanta (Metropolitan Opera, NY, Aix-en-Provence, Lyon, Perm), Renato in Un ballo in maschera, Rodrigo in Don Carlo, Prince Igor, Carlo Gerard in Andrea Chenier, and Don Carlo in Ernani (all Metropolitan Opera, NY, cover).
